OLD IS GOLD

        Many people have a habit of collecting things as a hobby. I am going to tell you about such a wonderful hobby that someone had. That's my Seeya (grandfather)💓. He died a year ago. He has been collecting coins since he was a little boy. He continued to do it until his death. When I had a free time, my favourite thing to do was ask him about their childhood stories😋. Their lives were more beautiful and free than the lives we have now. He told me a lot of interesting stories. Those stories had many things to enjoy as well as things that are important to live. One day while we were talking like that, he brought something like a strange tin from his cupboard and handed it to me. " Open it and see. Things we did when we were kids.", he said. When I opened it, there were some old coins inside. Among those coins, there were old coins belonging to Sri Lanka as well as other countries. Seeya said he tried hard to find those coins. There were also beautiful stories in the background with many coins. He also asked me to protect them one day when he was gone. We thought those coins were as small, old, silly things, but I realized that they were actually more valuable to Seeya than pearls. That little thing was his greatest joy. His past is like Gold to him. So do I now. Even though Seeya passed away, his memories will always be hidden among those coins💓.
